To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. Click on Dog Application to apply.
All of Waverly Pet Rescue's dogs and puppies are current on vaccinations, tested heartworm negative, and spayed or neutered.
In order to be considered for an adoption today you must be 21 years of age, have knowledge and consent of all adults living in your household, have a valid Id with current address, your landlord’s name and phone number.
CHAMP
Senior: About 7-1/2 years old as of May 2026.
Breed: Shih Tzu.
Sex: Male
Size: 18 pounds.
Coat length: Medium. Does need groomed.
House-trained: Yes.
Good in a home with: Adults, nonaggression dogs, older children.
Unknown: Cats.
Needs a home without: Young children.
Personality: He loves to go on walks. If you are looking for a laid-back cute guy, Champ's the one.
Required: Champ does not like to be picked up at all unless he is going for a car ride or put on a bed. He does not like anyone in his face. He did bit 2 people three years ago but no incidents since then. The bites were 3 years ago, and he has not bit anyone else. We just make sure to follow Champ's rules and all will be ok. Luckily Champ does give warning growls so follow the cues, and Champ will be the prefect little dog.

BUSTER
Senior: About 9 years old as of May 2026.
Breed: Cairn Terrier
Sex: Male
Size: 13 pounds.
Coat length: Wire.
House-trained: Yes.
Good in a home with: Adults, other dogs, cats.
Unknown: Children.
Personality: Loves to play! With lots of patience, love and cuddles he's really come out of his shell and is a GREAT dog.
Required: A forever home with a kind human. The anxiety meds our vet put him on seems to be helping him a lot so he should stay on them in a new home.

DUKE
Adult: About 2 years old as of January 2026.
Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Siberian Husky Mix.
Sex: Male
Size: 50 pounds.
Coat length: Short.
House-trained: Yes.
Good in a home with: Adults and older children, dogs.
Needs a home without: Cats, young children.
Personality: Duke is friendly and affectionate.
Required: 6 Ft tall privacy fenced in yard.
$75.00 adoption fee for Duke. (He has a kind sponsor of $100.00 towards his adoption fee so instead of $175, his adoption fee is now only $75.00. Thank you!)

Remy is a 4 year old Border Collie that is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. he weighs about 35 pounds. Remy is a very sweet dog that loves to be loved. He’s a cuddler and wants to be near his person. He’s very smart and learns very quickly. He knows commands for sit, shake, down and roll over. His favorite thing is to play fetch … a ball thrower is excellent because he can run really fast and really far. He can also jump really high and will jump up for a ball that’s over 5 feet in the air. He has energy so an active home would be best. He hikes and swims with his current foster mom.
He is nervous in new environments and with new people so he will take some time to warm up but once he does, he will love deeply. He’s very afraid of loud noises he hides in the bathroom or in his kennel when he hears a delivery at the door. He is very selective with other dogs and will lunge or try to bite so it’s best he is an only dog & no young children. It is believed that he may have been neglected or yelled at by a man so when introducing him to a male, give him time to learn to trust. He is kennel trained … his kennel is his safe place. He goes into the kennel whenever left home alone to avoid scratching at the door if he hears loud noises. He can become destructive if a loud noise triggers his fear.
